Schedule: Monday – Friday, 39 hours per week
Medforce is delighted to have partnered with a highly renowned, modern, acute facility located in County Meath to recruit an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to patient care by supporting the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services. You will work closely with our client’s team of Occupational Therapists, assisting in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients to help them achieve their maximum potential in daily living and functional activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering patient-centered therapy programs, including preparing and setting up equipment and treatment areas.
2. Support patients during therapy sessions, providing encouragement and hands-on assistance as needed.
3. Help patients develop, recover, and improve their daily living and work skills through guided therapeutic activities.
4. Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
5. Educate patients and their families on the use of adaptive equipment and techniques to enhance independence.
6. Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and managing inventory of therapy supplies.
7. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients during all therapy activities.
8. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute to holistic patient care planning.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. A relevant qualification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (e.g., FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Healthcare Support or equivalent).
2. Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in occupational therapy, rehabilitation, or a related field.
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
5. Basic knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices is an advantage.
