a leading multidisciplinary contractor in Ireland, is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team for an Overhead Line framework project based in Kildare. Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Support
1. Assist in implementing commercial strategies to meet project goals.
2. Support Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors with:Preparing tenders, evaluating proposals, and finalizing subcontractor agreements.Financial and commercial management of subcontractors, ensuring Final Account resolution.
Documentation & Financial Oversight
3. Maintain accurate site records and documentation.
4. Conduct and document detailed site measurements.
5. Contribute to cost-value reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, and financial targets.
6. Manage valuations and ensure timely submission and agreement of variations.
Team Collaboration & Risk Management
7. Collaborate with site management teams to address commercial issues.
8. Actively engage in the CVR process, providing independent analysis.
9. Identify and mitigate risks while leveraging project opportunities.
10. Support cash flow management to ensure strong financial health.
Mentorship & Learning
11. Supervise and mentor Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, ensuring quality and accuracy.
12. Develop understanding of Design & Build (D&B) and Contractor Design Portion (CDP) contracts.
13. Gain experience in contract law, claims, and dispute resolution.
Client Liaison
14. Engage with clients on commercial matters related to the project.
15. Promote and protect the company's commercial and contractual rights.
Requirements
16. Experience :Minimum 1 year as a Quantity Surveyor in a Civils/Construction environment.
17. Skills :Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Proficiency with technology platforms and the Standard Method of Measurement .Effective time management, organization, and negotiation skills.Demonstrated commercial awareness and ownership.
