Description
The Physiotherapy Service provides a service to all the specialties in CUH/CUMH & St. Finbarr’s Hospital. CUH is a regional centre for neurosurgery, plastic and burns, cardiothoracic surgery, haematology, cystic fibrosis, and is the location for trauma orthopaedics in Cork. CUH is the largest multi-specialty site in the country.
The CUH physiotherapy department has a staff of over 70 WTE providing services across inpatients, outpatients, and outreach.
This post forms part of a multi-disciplinary team based within the ED in CUH, which consists of medical, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, pharmacy, dietician, social work, and nursing staff. Patients are screened by the team, and joint decisions about care are made in close consultation with ED consultants/NCHDs and geriatricians on the service.
