Business Development Manager – Galway
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager (also referred to as Customer Development Manager) to join our Field Sales team at Bunzl McLaughlin covering the Galway region.

Being successful in this role means:
* Having strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to build good working relationships.
* Previous experience of growing and developing a sales territory.
* Good listening skills with the ability to show empathy with customers to gain trust and establish rapport.
* Sales experience within the hotel, restaurant, or catering industry would be advantageous.

Main Responsibilities:
* Maximise sales and margin in the assigned territory.
* Populating customer management information on Salesforce.
* Key lead in managing customer relationships.
* Maintain relationships with existing customers and fill any gaps by identifying cross selling opportunities.
* Identify new customer opportunities, creating new customer profiles and win new business.
* Maintain Territory by creating journey plans to ensure time is best utilised.
* Promoting exclusive lines, Bunzl Advantage and weekly delivery within schedule.
* Co-ordinate customer contracts and margins.
* Providing quotations identifying profitable growth opportunities.
* Handling customer issues and queries including any credit notes.
* Responsible for the successful sales growth in line with the Company's objective, overall business plans, and strategies.
* Conducting monthly reviews of the relevant customer pipeline activity.
* Expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
Skills and Experience
Joining us as a Business Development Manager the minimum criteria you will need are:
* A minimum of 3 years of sales experience within the hospitality sector.
* Has developed and executed tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives.
* Highly organised and has strong effective time management skills.
* Highly competent and computer literate with all Microsoft Office system.
* Experience required with utilising sales database tracking programs.
* Strong negotiating skills and capacity.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Equally strong listening skills.
* Highly customer focused.
* Highly efficient.
* Ability to set policies and remain flexible when customer conditions require.
