Reporting to the Site Director, you will be responsible for the overall direction of the EHS group onsite and managing site safety and environmental activities in line with relevant corporate and regulatory requirements. What you will be doing: Provide leadership and management to employees reporting directly to EHS Manager Establish and implement an effective environmental, health and safety programme to meet legislative and corporate requirements and in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Provide guidance, advice, and support to management on EHS&E policies and strategy to ensure overall compliance with respect to Licences and Legislation, BAT, best practice and the management of Audits, Assessments, Surveys and Reports. Identify future EHS&E requirements and maintain knowledge of recognised EHS&E Management Standards. Maintain the company's applicable permits and licences. Ensure that procedures and a programme are in place to effectively manage all waste streams according to legislative guidelines and industry best practice. Meet core local and corporate KPIs and objectives. Continuously develop and manage integrated Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety and Energy Management Systems. Direct the amalgamation of Corporate Standards towards an integrated management system for EHS&E, to include, emergency planning/loss prevention, legal and environmental compliance, safety risk assessment - both process and occupational; environmental risk assessment, objectives, targets and programmes, monitoring and measuring, communications, reporting, auditing, operational instructions and all other procedures related to the elements of the internationally recognised EHS&E Management Standards. Manage EHS&E operations and capital Budgets, services, and suppliers. Manage all associated EHS Programmes and significant site projects. Ensure arrangements are in place for all site Capital expenditure requests to ensure that significant EHS aspects and activities are appropriately resourced for new product introductions. Apply EHS&E related knowledge to the design and redesign of processes and the related workplace, especially in relation to NPIs and technical/product transfers. Develop and Direct Emergency Response, Loss Prevention, Occupational Health Services, EHS Training, Occupational Hygiene Programmes and Process Safety, and implement programmes to ensure responses are evaluated for all incidents. Participate in local and national Business Continuity and Crisis Action Teams. What you need to apply: BSc in Occupational Safety & Health Level 8, or equivalent, or a degree in a related discipline is essential. 3 - 5 years in an EHS role with detailed knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements relating to the healthcare industry. 5+ years of demonstrated project management experience, including the ability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to predefined quality requirements. Minimum of 2 years people management experience. MSc in Environmental Health and Safety Management (Level 9) is desirable.
