PM Group now has an opportunity for a Facilities Engineer with one of our top medical device clients based in the Kilkenny region.
Responsibilities
1. Working within the HVAC / Building Services and utilities maintenance department, assist with projects, vendor inquiries and troubleshooting of facilities and utilities systems and identify/implement continuous process improvement initiatives.
2. Support, learn and understand the processes of installing; repairing new, modified, or existing equipment within complex manufacturing areas, offices, and plant facilities as required.
3. Assist and support the senior members of the facilities team in field installation; responding to breakdowns; repairs; general maintenance works to site apparatus including; Air Source Heat Pumps; Humidifiers; Dehumidifiers; Air Handlers; Pumps; Control Systems; Compressed Air Systems and all Facility building Services related equipment. Ensure all plant facilities are maintained and serviced in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.s) or as recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Ensuring safe working conditions are maintained as required by Health and Safety Inspectorate and other regulatory bodies.
5. Assist with Facilities projects, and monitor expenditure where necessary.
6. Assist on capital project teams through all phases of projects.
7. Participate in efficiency and streamlining projects which contribute to site initiatives and contribute to increased safety.
8. Support with installation and maintenance of new, modified, or existing equipment to manufacturing areas, offices and plant facilities as needed.
9. Liaise with dept managers / area leads for the implementation of works with minimal disruption.
10. Be an active member of the Department’s sustainability Team.
11. Provide support to manufacturing and maintenance where required.
12. Support EHS personnel to ensure that all regulations pertaining to environmental health and safety are followed and supported.
Qualifications
1. 2 years plus relevant experience working within a facilities role with a mechanical or electrical bias.
2. Level 7 NFQ qualification or equivalent in Engineering.
3. Have excellent communication / organisation skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.
4. Ability to work in a busy team environment as well as working independently, taking the initiative when necessary.
5. Appetite for professional growth and development.
