About the School of Population Health
Established in 2022, the School of Population Health comprises various departments and centres, including the Department of Public Health and Epidemiology and the Data Science Centre. It includes over 100 academic, research and professional staff, as well as over 40 PhD scholars.
Population health scientists and researchers at RCSI have an impressive track record undertaking impactful multidisciplinary research. Our aims are to undertake multidisciplinary research that guides, shapes and monitors crucial decisions in population health and to deliver comprehensive educational programmes that meet today’s workforce needs.
About the post
The postholder will provide administrative and operational support to the School and two of its research centres – the Data Science Centre and Healthcare Outcomes Research Centre. This is a full-time position. While flexible work options will be considered, wholly remote working is not available for the post.
Job responsibilities include:
1. Performing administrative duties and supporting the efficient functioning of the School
2. Scheduling and organising meetings, minute-taking
3. Ordering materials and dealing with suppliers, raising purchase orders
4. Reconciling expenditure against budgets
5. Supporting the development and production of annual reports, research reports, etc.
6. Managing the Data Science Centre’s support requests and services
7. Implementing and developing standard operating procedures
8. Coordinating and supporting new starter processes within the School
9. Liaising with colleagues in central support functions (e.g. Estates, Finance, etc.)
10. Supporting the School’s programme of webinars and events
11. Supporting the School’s communication and dissemination activities on social media
12. Performing such other duties as may be required
Knowledge and Experience
* Three to five years’ experience in a related role and work environment. Experience in an education or health-related environment would be an advantage.
* Excellent knowledge of MS 365 suite
Skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* High standard of accuracy in both written and numerical work
* Experience of event management
* Experience with social media
* Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
* Conscientious with keen attention to detail
* Ability to work on one’s own initiative, as well as in a team environment
* Strong problem-solving skills, self-driven and results-oriented
* Strong relationship skills: engaging colleagues and stakeholders collaboratively
* Effective communication style appropriate to audience and situation
* Ability to operate flexibly within a busy environment
