Role Title: IMS & Compliance Manager

Role Purpose:
The IMS & Compliance Manager provides support and guidance to the business and EHS Team to ensure the Integrated Management System meets the requirements of the business from an operational and compliance perspective. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining IMS across the business, ensuring that Actavo, client and regulatory requirements are adhered to.
You will be responsible for the development of appropriate policies and procedures within the IMS including ensuring they are implemented. Working closely with the Head of EHS in the development and implementation of health & safety, road safety, environmental, quality, sustainability, energy and training policies, procedures and monitoring / reporting structures across the business.
You will have line management responsibility of the IMS and Compliance Team.

Principal Responsibilities:
* Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work. Ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you.
* Work with Business Management in the development, delivery, implementation and maintenance of business unit specific SHEQ policies and procedures, providing daily and weekly reporting to the Head of EHS, business management and clients.
* Manage the workload of IMS and Compliance team including the development and appraisal of staff in line with individual staff development plans, preparing performance reports as required including agreeing KPI’s / SLA’s for Team and managing the allocation and scheduling of resources to the business.
* To provide positive leadership within the team and business; promote Actavo’s core values, encourage an employee high performance culture, and ensure regular and clear communication within the team, actively contributing to the activities of safety committees, groups and forums etc, to improve and develop a high performing health and safety at work culture.
* Liaising with clients, regulatory bodies, accreditation organisations, contractors in relation to the development, implementation, management and operation of the various systems within the remit of the EHS function including health & safety, road safety, quality assurance, energy and sustainability management.
* Plan, develop and implement EHS and associated programs in order to assure continuous compliance with Actavo, client and regulatory standards as a minimum with an objective of Actavo being recognised as industry leaders in each sector in which they operate.
* Identify measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the IMS.
* To develop and maintain a routine schedule of internal audits along with site audits and inspections based on priority of known activities, in consultation with site management and divisional directors, then conduct audits and inspections accordingly.
* Ensure that relevant ISO standards, licences and other memberships are maintained and renewed in a timely manner.
* Operate in a sustainable manner taking into consideration energy usage, impact on the environment while ensuring the highest quality standard for the IMS, the IMS/EHS Team and the wider business.
* Work with the business teams in the tendering, product & service development and business growth activities.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Must hold a recognised SHEQ qualification with membership status of IOSH/IIRSM or similar.
* Membership of IEMA would be a distinct advantage.
* Minimum 5 years Management experience.
* Experience managing teams including team performance and development.
* Managing EHS and operational budgets.
* IOSH/NEBOSH, IEMA accredited.

* Up-to-date health and safety knowledge on legislations & practices.
* Experience in developing, implementing & maintaining ISO standards and management systems.
* Must have excellent communication and negotiation experience including the ability to influence change.
* Must be computer literate with high level knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
