Senior Quantity Surveyor Position Description
Join our dedicated team where we provide specialist Quantity Surveying, Engineering Planning, Design, Construction Operation & Maintenance and Management services required for electricity industry infrastructure projects in Ireland and overseas.
The Quantity Surveyor role will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying and cost management for our full range of projects including office refurbishments, substation construction, ducting and cable works, solar farms, wind farms, battery storage projects and general construction and civil engineering projects. The role will involve close liaison with Senior Quantity Surveyors and other design professionals, clients, and contractors. ESB promotes continual professional development and sees this as a key aspect of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will cover the items below:
* Cost management function throughout all phases of a project
* Preparation of Order of Magnitude Costs
* Preparation of tender documentation
* Liaison with procurement function
* Tender assessment and evaluation
* Report writing and interpretation
* Promote the safety management culture across all activities demonstrating visible commitment to safety.
* Ensure that Quality Procedures are implemented on all projects.
* Assist with mentoring and professional development of junior staff
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Working as part of this dynamic team, you will always have new challenges and new problems to solve – working together is key. You will have the autonomy to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems with the support of your colleagues.
We are looking for the following skills:
* Minimum Quantity Surveying experience of 5 years (Post Qualification)
* Proven track record of delivering projects on time and to the highest professional standards
* Self-motivation and ability to project-manage own work and coordinate with those working alongside him/her
* Proven record of being results driven and customer oriented.
* Full driving licence and access to a car.
* A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service
* Knowledge of the administration of main conditions of contract including FIDIC Conditions of Contract
* Ability to make quality decisions and judgements
* A logical, yet imaginative approach to problem solving
* Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure
* A clear focus on delivery of high quality work
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience in the use of Buildsoft & Cubit software would be advantageous
* Experience in Civil Engineering / Utility projects would be advantageous
* The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
* A strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate necessary work with limited oversight.
Qualifications
Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
MRICS/MSCSI qualified, with Legal Registration under the Building Control Act 2007
Location
One Dublin Airport Central, Dublin or Eastgate Cork.

€57,000 to €68,000 per annum
