We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 6,000 volunteers across the country We have been awarded Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator and the Housing Regulatory Standard.
ALONE as an approved housing body is now recruiting a Tenancy Office to manage its Dublin properties.

The Tenancy Officer will be responsible for managing ALONE’s portfolio of properties and will deal with all aspects of housing management including property viewings, allocations, lettings, rent collection, and customer care for tenants in a responsive, efficient and quality manner.

Responsibilities
Allocations and Lettings:
Manage the allocation of properties from vacancy to reallocation within agreed time frames;
Prepare, plan and manage pre-tenancy and conduct accompanied viewings including interviewing and assessment of prospective tenants
Oversee the letting process, including the administration of tenancy agreements and registering new tenancies with the Residential Tenancies Board;
Assist tenants with Rent Supplement applications and advise prospective tenants of their rights and responsibilities with respect to their tenancy agreement.
Tenant Relations:
Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, addressing concerns, and ensuring a harmonious living environment
Addressinformal and formal complaints brought to ALONE’s attention; and
Manage all reports of anti-social behaviour in line with agreed procedures.
Ensuring timely rent payments and monitor and address rent arrears, implementing payment plans, and, if necessary, initiating legal actions for non-payment.
Conducting regular inspections of residential properties to:
Identify and address health and safety hazards;
identify any maintenance or repair needs;
Ensure that properties are well-maintained and comply with agreed standards; and
Identify breaches of regulations.
Policy development and enforcement:
Review and maintain ALONE Resident’s handbook;
Implement housing policies and regulations to maintain a safe compliant living environment for all tenants;
Ensure all tenancies and rent agreements are enforced
Ensure that up-to-date and accurate information is maintained and recorded on IT systems;
Furnish written reports as and when required; and
Make applications in relation to grants and funding as required.
Essential skills & experience
Hands on experience of social housing tenancy services including assessments, allocations and tenancy supports;
Minimum 2yr years proven experience in customer service operations;
Able to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion, and respect;
High-level communication skills both written and verbal;
The ability to network and negotiate effectively with individuals and groups, within ALONE and outside; and
A full clean driver’s license and access to a car is essential.
Experience of working with vulnerable people
Good computer literacy, excellent organisational skills, budgeting, report writing, managing meetings and multi-tasking is desirable.
Detail-oriented with ability to drive process and procedure improvements.
Self-motivated person who is committed to ALONE’s mission is essential.
Able to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, discretion and respect is essential.
Understanding of the not-for-profit sector would be beneficial.
