The Maintenance Control & Instrumentation Electrician Team Lead will be an integral part of the maintenance team with responsibility for the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance and troubleshooting of the plant and equipment to help ensure that plant operates to strict efficiency, availability, environmental and commercial standards.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Supervise/build and develop maintenance EC&I Team and manage all people related issues within the team or cross functional teams.
2. Ensure safety of staff and contractors through compliance with safety systems, including permits to work, setting to work and risk assessments. Carry out authorised roles under the safety rules.
3. All aspects of hands-on electrical fault finding, testing and repairs in a power generation work environment.
4. Prioritise, schedule and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure business continuity.
5. Procurement of key services and components.
6. Supervise and Manage Contractors / Contracts.
7. Perform hands-on planned and reactive electrical and C&I maintenance activities in accordance with site policies and procedures.
8. Active participation in all daily/weekly planning meetings.
9. Installation, troubleshooting, repair and commissioning of plant equipment.
10. Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS.
11. Preparation and review of task specific Method statements and Risk Assessments.
The successful candidate will have:
1. Recent 5 years plus Thermal, Hydro, renewable generation plant or equivalent industrial hands-on Electrical/ Control & Instrumentation systems maintenance experience.
2. Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical systems and/or C&I systems.
3. An understanding of heavy electrical components such as transformers, generators, switchgears, motorised valves, and motors.
4. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and P&IDs.
5. Ability to organise and prioritise work.
6. Experience and technical knowledge of power station electrical maintenance procedures or electrical maintenance practices in similar heavy process industry.
7. Experience with instrumentation calibration and electrical test equipment.
8. Ability to follow maintenance procedures.
9. Strong safety culture and ability to work in a team environment.
10. Full B driving licence.
11. Good IT skills. Applicants must have some knowledge in the use of computer systems.
12. MUST have FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade electrical craft qualification or equivalent.
