Experienced Reservations Agent
Role Description
This is a unique opportunity for a full-time permanent position that is based on-site at The Park Hotel in Dungarvan. It is a very busy department wherein the Reservations Agent will support the Reservations Executive and the Revenue Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Reservations Office whilst liaising with the Reception and Events team.
Role Responsibilities
1. Ensuring all reservations are recorded accurately and completely, then confirmed in an efficient and courteous manner.
2. Answering incoming calls/emails with new/updating/confirming/cancelling reservations.
3. Monitoring individual and group reservations on a daily and weekly basis.
4. Communicating accurate, current and complete information across all necessary departments on a daily basis and continuously updating.
5. Arranging supplementary/additional ad-hoc reservation requests.
6. Answering guest questions regarding the hotel facilities, local facilities etc. in a prompt and timely manner, in line with company procedures.
7. Engaging with the Events Executive regarding the promotion of the hotel bedrooms and/or venue spaces to our valued corporate and leisure guests.
8. Endeavouring to achieve departmental monthly and annual targets.
9. Maintaining current strong relationships and building strong new relationships with our guests.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be 100% fluent in English with a minimum of 2 years previous experience in a busy hotel front office environment. You will be proficient in using MS Office Suite and ideally, you should have experience using the Hotsoft Operating System.
You must be an excellent communicator with strong time management and organisational skills. You must have a strong customer focus. You must be confident and proactive. You should be able to remain calm and amicable in difficult situations with a can-do attitude.
