The Enterprise Agile Coach co-creates Agile Transformation Roadmaps and executes to achieve agreed upon outcomes. They mentor, coach and train people, teams, value streams and portfolios. They possess full stack Agile expertise and demonstrated experience working at all levels of the organization from executives to individual contributors. They have a demonstrated ability to partner, build effective relationships and collaborate to plan and execute agreed upon objectives.
Responsibilities include:
1. Co-create Agile Transformation Roadmaps and backlogs to achieve agreed upon outcomes, and lead execution and steering of these Roadmaps.
2. Lead the coaching of multiple Agile development teams and large-scale value streams across the organization with a focus on predictably delivering business value.
3. Teach, lead, and mentor cross-functional business groups to build, sustain, and strengthen Agile values, SAFe and scrum concepts and practices, providing them the necessary tools and guidance to successfully implement across high-impact value streams throughout the enterprise.
4. Coach and build Agile teams practicing Scrum, Kanban, DevOps and SAFe, and use the eight flow accelerators to identify opportunities to accelerate the flow of value.
5. Provide hands-on coaching to the Agile teams in all aspects including attending events and providing recommendations and feedback to the team throughout the life cycle.
6. Cultivate the Agile mindset by demonstrating and teaching Lean-Agile values and principles as well as the technical skills that form part of the underlying principles and methods.
7. Advise on the use of Agile tools in support of the Agile process and practice (Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally etc.).
8. Partner and collaborate with senior executives to effectively communicate and influence senior executives in decisions critical to adoption and implementation of Agile practices.
9. Ensure Agile metrics and dashboards are created, used, and monitored for indications of potential problem areas and assist teams in identifying and implementing solutions to address the problems.
10. Keep abreast of industry trends for Agile and best practices for enhancing product planning and execution.
11. Identify and coach Agile evangelists across the organization who can function as informal mentors/peers and continue increasing the confidence across the organization.
12. Contribute to other Agile initiatives including training, developing, and delivering topic specific workshops, developing common Agile coaching guidance, and facilitation and participating in communities of practice (CoPs).
13. Integrate Merative’s core values and strategic objectives with the Business Agility transformation initiative.
14. Leverage the three domains of measurement (outcomes, flow, and competency) to evaluate and steer progress towards Business Agility.
Qualifications include:
1. 7+ years working in an agile culture with deep understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Lean-Agile frameworks.
2. 5+ years working in an agile environment as an Agile Coach.
3. Mindset consistent with SAFe Lean-Agile Values: transparency, alignment, respect for people and relentless improvement.
4. Strong emotional competence and organizational awareness with ability to challenge organizational norms and influence decisions without formal authority.
5. Demonstrated experience coaching globally distributed Portfolios, Value Streams, Agile Release Trains, and Agile Teams through a multiyear Agile transformation.
6. Experience with large-scale enterprise Agile transformation with demonstrated experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other scaling frameworks and deep understanding of Agile values and principles.
7. Demonstrated experience facilitating collaborative sessions, managing customer expectations, and ensuring work is aligned with the Enterprise goals and objectives.
8. Understanding of the technical enablers of Agile delivery and how they operate within an Agile organization (e.g., CI/CD, DevSecOps).
9. Expertise with Agile tool suites including Atlassian, Agility Health Radar, Rally, or similar Agile management tooling.
10. Experience with Agile testing and technical engineering techniques (TDD, BDD) and DevSecOps tools.
11. Agile Coach certifications.
12. Active leadership in the Agile community is preferred.
13. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
