Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our leadership team. The ADON will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of outstanding patient care, supporting the nursing staff, and assisting the Director of Nursing in managing the overall operations of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Director of Nursing in the overall management of the Step Down Facility.
* Oversee the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
* Support and mentor nursing staff, promoting professional development and a positive work environment.
* Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care quality.
* Monitor patient care outcomes and work collaboratively with the healthcare team to implement quality improvement initiatives.
* Coordinate patient care plans, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
* Manage staff schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training and development needs.
* Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new nursing staff.
* Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and excellence in patient care.
* Handle administrative duties, including reporting, budgeting, and resource management.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Minimum of 7 years of post-registration nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
* Previous experience in a step down facility, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Excellent clinical skills and a thorough understanding of patient care practices.
