The primary role of a Lineworker is to install, maintain and repair high-powered electrical lines and systems. A Lineworker works on both transmission and distribution lines that originate from a power plant and extend to individual buildings or homes. To ensure that the Company takes all reasonable measures to provide a safe working environment for its employees, the general public, contractors and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Working as a Lineworker on the OHL Electricity you will be responsible for day-to-day operational outputs.
2. Drive utility vehicles to work sites.
3. Climb poles to service power lines.
4. Service transmission and distribution lines from power plants to buildings.
5. Install electrical equipment for power systems.
6. Repair aboveground and below-ground power lines.
7. Maintain power lines through regular inspections.
8. Reporting directly to your PICW, you must be goal oriented, a team player and determined to succeed in all aspects of the OHL work.
9. Take responsibility for daily work tasks, as instructed by your PICW.
10. Take part in team briefs and tool box talks.
11. Adhere to the safety rules as set out by the Company and its Client.
12. Have an ongoing determination to complete the work on time and to the specified requirements.
13. You will be competent in completing your daily tasks.
14. You will take proper care of all tools/equipment/PPE and vehicles supplied to you by the company and report any defects found.
15. You will always deal with the public in a courteous manner and keep the company’s integrity in good stead.
16. Ensure job site follows government and company safety rules.
To be considered for a Lineworker role, you will ideally have the following:
1. 2+ years’ work experience as a lineworker or proven track record of working on OHL works preferred.
2. Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel and work away at customer sites.
3. Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (walking and standing for long periods).
4. Available to work shifts, evenings, weekends and on short notice.
5. Physically strong, agile and dexterous.
6. Undeterred by heights and adverse climatic conditions.
7. Must have an understanding of the English language.
8. Reliable and flexible with the ability to use own initiative.
9. Commitment to Health and Safety.
10. Optional knowledge of electricity consumption and power engineering.
