Job Description
The position involves testing and troubleshooting of automated medical diagnostic instruments, sub-assemblies, and test fixtures. The incumbent must have experience and knowledge in troubleshooting systems involving software, electronics, mechanical assemblies, and fluidics systems, including reagents.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technically responsible for testing and debugging medical diagnostic product platforms in a low-volume, high-complexity, and highly regulated technology environment.
2. Responsible for troubleshooting instrument problems and resolution in a timely manner to ensure daily output targets are achieved.
3. Meet production output targets and assigned plant metrics.
4. Investigate root cause of failures to a component level to ensure elimination of repeat failures.
5. Develop, improve, and maintain good manufacturing practices and workmanship standards with a quality and process robustness focus.
6. Responsible for reagent and sample handling ensuring good practices and continuously improving the processes.
7. Follow process and test instruction to verify instruments before shipment.
8. Establish causes of malfunction and non-conformance in the electrical, hydraulic, and chemical operation of systems and modules with a minimum loss of test time.
9. Perform inspection operations on sub-assemblies, modules, and systems using engineering drawings, schematics, flow diagrams, specifications, and methodologies.
10. Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork, test data for each system/module to ensure accurate Quality records are available.
11. Assist Engineering in the initial validation, installation, and verification of new test procedures, equipment, and products.
12. Train new personnel or existing technicians on unfamiliar systems or modules.
13. Reduce waste and improve performance using process and instrument knowledge in alignment with lean and 6 sigma manufacturing techniques.
Requirements:
* QQI Level 6 qualification in Engineering or Science Discipline (Bio-Chemistry, Chemical, Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, or other relevant technical background) or QQI level 6 Diploma/Trade qualification with relevant experience in automation/system manufacturing or support.
* Strong trouble-shooting and practical experience in instrument technical trouble-shooting.
* Good communication skills to provide feedback to Engineering.
* Good practical background.
* Two years' experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
* Possibility of shift work to meet supply demand.
