Senior Engineer
As a key member of the Water and Utilities team at TOBIN, this role offers an opportunity to manage and deliver critical water and wastewater capital infrastructure projects for various clients.
Main Responsibilities:
* Development of preliminary designs and feasibility studies at concept design stage.
* Preparation of route and site selection reports.
* Creation of design drawings, technical reports, and calculations.
* Preparation of contract documents and specifications for project delivery.
* Liaison with the Client throughout all stages of the project ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
* Management of a team of Graduate, Design, and Project Engineers in delivering project outputs.
* Mentoring and developing project teams, including junior engineers and support staff, providing technical expertise and guidance.
* Coordination of a multidisciplinary team within TOBIN to ensure delivery of environmental, planning, hydrogeological, and structural inputs to the design.
* Procurement of Site Investigation and Building and Civil Engineering Contracts, and preparation of pricing schedules and Bills of Quantities where necessary.
* Construction stage inspections and preparation of associated reports.
* Identifying and mitigating project risks, and implementing effective risk management strategies.
* Developing effective communication and collaboration within TOBIN teams and with key Clients.
* Administration of construction contracts to ensure design requirements, project schedules, and project budget are achieved.
* Developing and maintaining client relationships.
* Staying up-to-date with industry developments, innovations, and technology used by consulting engineering professionals.
* Compliance with and further development of the company's quality assurance procedures and plans.
Required Skills:
* 10-15 years' experience in a similar role.
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in design and build in the water/wastewater industry in Ireland.
* Minimum of a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
* Excellent written and verbal English communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong understanding of water/wastewater engineering standards.
* Working knowledge of relevant software packages such as Microsoft Project.
* Strong working knowledge of construction contracts such as FIDIC.
* Proven ability to manage teams, deliver complex projects, and build client relationships.
