Job Title: Transport Efficiency Lead - Initial 6-Month FTC
Shift: Afternoon / Evening
Reporting to: Group Head of Transport
Role Overview
The Transport Efficiency Lead supports the Group Head of Transport in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of transport activities across all business units. This role focuses on performance analysis, route optimization, and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze completed work from the previous day, assessing timeframes and efficiency.
2. Identify areas of fleet idling and downtime.
3. Review drivers’ shift times versus actual hours worked.
4. Compare planned vs. actual collection rates and tonnage.
5. Assess current REL routes (day and night) for optimization opportunities.
6. Identify and implement efficiency improvements in REL routes.
7. Support efforts to reduce route redundancies while maintaining service quality.
8. Assist in developing and executing peak season transport plans.
9. Support the Group Head of Transport in the customer onboarding process.
10. Track and report key performance metrics, providing data-driven recommendations.
11. Contribute to departmental initiatives and projects aimed at continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Impact
As Transport Efficiency Lead, you will work closely with the REL Transport Manager to ensure cost-effective, well-structured route plans that enhance productivity and service delivery. You will also play a critical role in maintaining high customer service standards by ensuring collections are completed within agreed service levels.
This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies in transport operations. You will be responsible for monitoring and improving key performance indicators while driving ongoing improvements across all areas of the department.
