POSITION TITLE: Procurement Analyst
DEPARTMENT NAME: Global Procurement & External Supply
THE ROLE
As Procurement Analyst, you will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to procurement activities within the organization. Your primary objective will be to provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize procurement processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance decision-making.
Additionally, you will proactively inform procurement colleagues of any opportunities you see within markets, following appropriate analysis. You will continuously improve the way we operate by proposing process documentation and templates that support our global standardization, following close collaboration with stakeholders.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include:
* Data Collection: Gather data from various sources including procurement systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other relevant platforms.
* Data Cleaning and Preparation: Cleanse and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
* Data Analysis: Utilize statistical techniques, data mining, and visualization tools to analyze procurement data and identify patterns, trends, and opportunities.
* Performance Monitoring: Track key procurement metrics and KPIs such as spend analysis, supplier performance, contract compliance, and savings realization.
* Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
* Support category managers in developing RFx materials and participating in evaluation of outcomes of RFx activities.
* Support category managers in planning, setting up and executing eSourcing activities like eAuctions.
* Supplier Relationship Management: Assist in evaluating supplier performance, conducting supplier risk assessments, and optimizing supplier relationships.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Monitor compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations, and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
* Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in procurement analytics to enhance skills and knowledge.
ROLE COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate for the role will play a crucial role in driving strategic decision-making and operational excellence within Global Procurement & External Supply. This position offers an exciting opportunity to leverage data-driven insights to optimize procurement processes, drive cost savings, and create value for the organization.
To be considered for the role prior experience in procurement analytics, data analysis, or related roles within a corporate or manufacturing environment is essential.
In terms of the performance and personal competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:
* Solid understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and sourcing strategies.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
* Excellent financial understanding with the ability to proactively create business cases, and use and understand financial terms such as PPV, NPV, IRR, payback, WACC, amortization, depreciations etc.
* Support category managers in summarizing complex data insights into simple and easy to read business cases.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and analysis.
* Effective communication and presentation skills to convey findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Level of Education and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Technical Requirements:
* An exceptional user of SAP with knowledge of how and where to extract relevant procurement data.
* Experience working with end to end sourcing suites like SAP Ariba, Smart by GEP, Coupa or other similar suites will be beneficial, and should include designing and executing eAuctions.
* Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
* A super user of the Microsoft office package, with the ability to utilize tools such as ThinkCell to produce high quality presentations.
* Knowledge of relevant technologies and systems, including ERP systems, workflow automation tools, and business intelligence platforms.
* Experience in utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT, or AI tools to optimize tail end spend, Blockchain and any other future technologies, will be advantageous.
Languages & Other:
* English – written and spoken is a must.
* Any other languages like German, French or Spanish will be an asset.
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
* Based at GMS & International headquarters in Dublin, Ireland.
* Travel as required to fulfill responsibilities of the role (typically up to 10%).
