Job Title: Qualified Accountant – Life Re/Insurance
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Accountant to join our team in the Cayman Islands. Our client is a Global Life Reinsurance leader that operates in the life and annuity reinsurance space, offering sophisticated financial solutions to manage risk and provide sustainable value.
The company is at the forefront of innovation in the reinsurance industry, with a focus on Variable Annuity and other complex life reinsurance products. As a Qualified Accountant in this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the success of the organization.
Your Role:
* Lead the financial reporting process for the Cayman and Bermuda entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both local and international standards.
* Oversee the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings.
* Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with actuarial, underwriting, and investment teams to align financial plans with business strategy.
* Perform detailed financial analysis on reinsurance transactions, including Variable Annuity portfolios.
* Support risk management efforts by providing timely and accurate financial data to senior management.
* Participate in the financial due diligence process for new transactions and acquisitions.
* Engage with external auditors and regulators, ensuring all financial controls and reporting requirements are met.
Your Skills:
* Qualified Accountant
* 2+ years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance, with experience in Variable Annuities being a strong advantage.
* Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis within the reinsurance or life insurance sector.
* Strong understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP standards.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
* Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
