Job Description for Senior EHS Manager
About the Role
The Senior EHS Manager provides strategic advice and support to Project Management teams and stakeholders on Environmental, Health, and Safety matters. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and implementing the company's EHS management system and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop project plans to drive continuous EHS improvement, aligning with project goals.
* Presentation of EHS data to clients, project leaders, and teams, focusing on key metrics and corrective actions.
* Assistance with risk assessments and compliance, identifying gaps and providing solutions.
* Building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure alignment and promote a positive EHS culture.
* Monitoring legal compliance and addressing weaknesses through follow-ups and training.
* Supporting the creation and communication of project-specific EHS plans, ensuring they are tailored and effective.
* Contributing to the development of an EHS management system, conducting audits and ensuring corrective actions.
* Identifying training needs, ensuring teams are well-equipped with EHS knowledge.
* Leading investigations into serious incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventative actions.
* Liaising with regulatory bodies and participating in compliance forums, keeping up to date with best practices and ensuring project adherence to environmental and safety standards.
Requirements
* Able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and boundaries.
* Strong presentation skills for internal and external parties.
* A team player with ability to operate independently when needed.
* Member of IOSH, Certified level as a minimum (CMIOSH preferred).
* Degree or equivalent in Environmental, Health, and Safety management (preferred).
* NEBOSH Certificate.
* Minimum 5-8 years EHS experience on large and complex construction projects.
* Experience of implementing EHS Management Systems and supporting procedures.
* Drive and enthusiasm, a self-starter who can prioritize and work with agility in this type of environment.
* Full driving license required.
