Dublinia is a busy heritage attraction located in the heart of Viking and Medieval Dublin. We are looking for an energetic and ambitious Marketing and Events officer to join us as an integral member of our small and busy team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to further their career in the tourism and events industry.
This new position will report to our Head of Marketing.
The role will include the following responsibilities:
Digital/Content Creation:
* Skilled in using Canva, Video editing (Capcut or other)
* Creative Content – produce images and videos for use on social media
* Responsible for the running of social media accounts – Instagram/Tiktok/You Tube/Facebook.
* Creation and management of Social Content calendar
* Responsible for the newsletter
* Creative ideas with the Head of Marketing on Blog content, social content etc, to align with the marketing strategy
* To collect statistics from organic campaigns for monthly reports
Events:
* Assist in creation of the Event calendar with the Head of Marketing, and responsible for its upkeep.
* Responsible for the signing up of external/collaborative events
* Responsible for all signage and set up of all Events
* Capturing content, imagery and video, to add to event image and video suite
* To be the first point of contact for on-site events, including some weekends.
* To provide pre, during and post event client support
* Prepare event briefings for Duty managers and ensure clear communication pre and post event.
* To collect and analyse event attendance and statistics for monthly reports to the Head of Marketing
Other:
* Assist with general bookings for groups visits (including domestic schools, language schools and other visitor types) and for educational workshops, ensuring smooth scheduling and coordination.
* To be responsible for stocking, producing and distributing marketing materials including brochures, flyers, and mailshots
* Represent the museum in a friendly, professional, and informed manner.
* General support to the office team
* Provide staffing assistance as needed.
Person Specification
* Min 1-2 years’ experience working in a marketing/office environment.
* Skilled in content creation
* Experience in digital and social media, including Mailchimp and social media management platforms.
* Experience in Canva and video editing for social content
* Proficient in MS Office and marketing software
* Excellent administrative and organisational skills and experience of working in an office environment.
* An ability to work as part of a team and to use her/his own initiative.
* Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, key audiences and visitors.
* An ability to be flexible and adaptable within a challenging and complex work environment
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience in the museum or heritage sector.
* Experience working in an Events environment.
Reports to: Head of Marketing
Location:Dublinia Heritage Centre at Christchurch
Working pattern:Full time, office based, with occasional weekend work to coordinate the running of the Events programme.
Holidays:22 days
Salary range:€33,000 - 35,000 per annum.
