We are seeking an experienced Accountant to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of our client's finance department. This role requires a proactive individual with strong organisational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting processes. Reporting into the Managing Director, this role will suit someone who has strong commercial finance acumen. This is a key role within the business, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial information while managing critical external relationships and supporting internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of monthly management accounts for the group, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines.
* Preparation and monitoring of cash flow projections to support business decisions.
* Full ownership of group reporting, providing clear and insightful analysis to senior management.
* Manage the year-end process, including coordination with external auditors and ensuring statutory compliance.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships with banks and other financial institutions, managing all banking operations and reporting requirements.
* Act as the key finance contact for department managers, supporting them with budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial decision-making.
* Manage the administration functions including preparation of monthly payroll.
* Assist with ongoing financial projects and process improvements across the group.
About You:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a similar group accounting role, ideally within property, real estate, or related sectors.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and excellent attention to detail.
* Proactive and confident communicator, capable of building effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
