There is a vacancy for Physiotherapist, Senior Urology (Pelvic Health) available within HSE West and North West Community Services in East Galway Roscommon Integrated Care Hub, St Brigids Administration Campus, Ballinasloe, Co Galway.
Taking up Appointment
A start date will be indicated at job offer stage.
Purpose of the Post
1. To work in conjunction with other team members in co-ordinating and developing the Urology service to meet the needs of the population it serves, in line with the objectives of the organisation.
2. To be responsible for the provision of a high quality physiotherapy service in accordance with standards of professional practice.
3. To carry out clinical and educational duties as required.
4. To deliver Urology Continence services in line with best clinical practice.
5. To develop and implement strategies as part of the Urology service for delivering effective physiotherapy care within a changing environment.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Professional / Clinical
The Senior Physiotherapist, Urology (Pelvic Health) will:
1. Be a lead clinician in the physiotherapy profession and carry a clinical caseload appropriate to the post focusing on continence care across the life span.
2. Be responsible for client assessment, development and implementation of individualised treatment plans that are client centred and in line with best practice.
3. Be responsible for goal setting in partnership with client, family and other team members as appropriate.
4. Be a clinical resource for other physiotherapists.
5. Document client records in accordance with professional standards and departmental policies.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications and/or experience
1. Candidates for appointment must be registered on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
2. Have three years full time (or an aggregate of three years full time) post qualification clinical experience.
3. Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Physiotherapists Register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
Other Requirements
1. Access to own transport.
2. Ability to speak Irish for posts that cover Gaeltacht areas.
Skills, Competencies and/or Knowledge
1. Demonstrate clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
2. Demonstrate a willingness to engage and develop IT skills relevant to the role.
