THE COMPANY: As a market leader in Ireland, our client is a provider of multiple products and solutions to the manufacturing sector. Their solutions span multiple industries, including Pharmaceutical, Food and Beverage, Industrial, Agricultural, etc. Due to expansion of the sales team, they are currently recruiting for a new Business Development Manager to join the chemicals sales team.
THE ROLE: You will join the chemicals division, selling dairy and food processing ingredients into the Food and Beverage manufacturers, dairy plants, distilleries, etc. You will sell to senior decision makers, including Head of Operations, senior board members, procurement, and research staff. You will spend much of your time managing existing accounts although will also be charged with new business development activities, working from an excellent database and your own networks. This is a nationwide role, with a focus on Leinster and Munster, where the majority of your key accounts will be located.
THE PERSON: To be successful in the role, you must be degree-qualified, with a degree in Food Science or Food Technology. Ideally, you will have a strong track record of field sales and an in-depth knowledge of the food industry, preferably from the functional food ingredients sector. You will be focused, well presented and organized, with the ability to work from your own initiative. You will enjoy a technical, solution-based sale, and have the technical capabilities to advise and demo solutions to your client base.
THE PACKAGE:
* Basic Salary - €50,000 - €70,000 DOE
* Commission - €20,000 +
