The Lead Global Industrial Hygiene will be a member of the Global EHSS team, supporting Bausch Health business units worldwide, including manufacturing processes, R&D, and offices in supporting facilities to ensure appropriate IH strategies and controls are implemented. Below are key responsibilities listed but not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable Global IH regulatory requirements and conformance to Bausch Health IH standards.
2. Working with the EHSS team to undertake recognition, evaluation, monitoring, and measurement of occupational risk factors (physical, chemical, biological) that may cause injury amongst our employees and the community.
3. Drive completion of IH qualitative risk assessments. Minimize occupational exposure risk through the use of engineering controls, administrative measures, and PPE.
4. Participate in global auditing programs to minimize EHS+S risks, ensure sound EHS+S management systems at all business levels, and ensure compliance with company and applicable governmental requirements.
5. Coordinate the monitoring of workplace environments and act as a liaison to appropriate regulatory agencies, respond to customer requests or events as they occur, and develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.
6. Support and oversee site IH programs and subsequent follow-up actions.
7. Evaluate exposure and toxicology implications in the use of new and existing chemicals, and approve their use as appropriate.
8. Positively influence management to better integrate IH initiatives into their business.
9. Drive improvements in review and reset IH standards across the organization and support continuing improvements to API management.
10. Educate users of best practices regarding handling, storage, and use of hazardous substances, and support laser best practices.
11. Develop, write, and review existing product SDS. Oversee the effectiveness of the Company’s Safety Data Sheet management programs, and identify appropriate respiratory protection measures as necessary.
12. Assist in machinery/equipment validations.
13. Provide support for SDS authoring and updating.
The minimum requirements:
1. A recognized Master’s degree with 3+ years’ experience, or Bachelor of Science with 5+ years’ experience in Industrial Hygiene.
2. Proven track records in chemistry, environmental management and science, environmental studies, environmental restoration, industrial ecology, etc.
3. A certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
4. Expert knowledge about Industrial Hygiene activities in the Pharmaceutical sector and other related laws and regulations.
5. Expert knowledge of safety system analysis.
6. Experience with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001, ISO 50001.
7. Excellent verbal as well as written communication skills.
8. Expert time management skills.
