Inventory & Planning Supervisor
About the Role
The Inventory & Planning Supervisor is responsible for managing and optimizing the inventory and planning processes within our organization.
This role ensures the timely availability of materials and products while minimizing excess stock and reducing costs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inventory Management:
o Oversight of inventory levels to ensure accurate stock levels are maintained across all locations.
o Performance of regular inventory audits and reconciliation of physical stock with system records.
o Monitoring and management of stock rotation to ensure products are used in a timely manner, reducing obsolete or expired stock.
o Implementation and maintenance of stock control policies to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
2. Operations Forecasting & Planning:
o Collaboration with sales and production teams to understand demand patterns and develop accurate forecasts.
o Development and management of production and procurement plans based on demand forecasts.
o Adjustment of planning strategies as necessary to address fluctuations in demand or supply chain disruptions.
3. Supply Chain Coordination:
o Closely working with procurement, logistics, and production teams to ensure materials are available when needed and that production schedules align with inventory levels.
o Monitoring supplier lead times, communicating inventory needs, and ensuring timely delivery of materials.
o Addressing any issues or delays in the supply chain that may affect inventory levels or production schedules.
4. Reporting & Analysis:
o Preparation of regular reports on inventory performance, stock levels, and inventory turnover rates.
o Analyzing inventory data to identify trends and recommending improvements to inventory management processes.
o Tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as stock accuracy, order fulfillment rates, and demand forecasting accuracy.
5. Continuous Improvement:
o Identifying opportunities for process improvements in inventory management, procurement, and planning.
o Implementation of best practices and system improvements to optimize inventory flow and reduce waste.
o Working with cross-functional teams to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain.
Requirements
* Certification in inventory management or planning (e.g. APICS CPIM or equivalent).
* 3+ years of experience in inventory management, planning, or supply chain roles.
* Experience using inventory management systems (e.g. SAP, Net Suite or similar software).
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
* Knowledge of forecasting techniques and inventory control systems.
* Familiarity with ERP systems and integrated supply chain software.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
