Job Description
Objectives of Position:
* Support test engineering functions in a high volume production environment.
* Maximize throughput with minimum downtime.
* Fault analysis and drive line improvements.
* Develop key test engineering procedures and models.
* Develop technical expertise of test engineering group associated with specific products.
* Represent test engineering department during customer visits/presentations.
* Debug test related issues and ensure stability of all tests.
* Cross-site and cross-function projects.
* Documentation related to test issue.
Responsibilities:
* New product introduction support.
* Provide design for testing (DFT) input to customers.
* Produce capacity plans for test equipment.
* Liaise with equipment suppliers and perform machine acceptance tests.
* Specify, install, and support production test equipment, including training of relevant personnel.
* Achieve accurate yields for test processes and drive continuous improvement through failure analysis and other tools.
* Maintain work practices, procedures, and equipment compliant with audit requirements.
* Enhance maintenance techniques to minimize machine/process downtime.
* Evaluate equipment technology advances to improve quality and efficiency/capability.
* Liaise with other departments on machine/process operation, safety, and environment.
* Attend customer visits and present on test approach and improvements.
* Maintenance procedures and methods reviews and spares database management.
Quality:
* Achieve ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
Health & Safety:
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.
Measurements:
* Task/project completion.
* Process measurement in terms of uptime, audits, and customer targets.
* Performance improvements in the test process.
* Development of procedures.
* Training plan availability for all department members.
* In-house training program completion.
* Maintenance of appropriate spares levels, particularly critical items.
Personnel Specifications:
Essential:
* National Framework Qualification Level 7 Degree/Diploma in Engineering or lesser qualification with sufficient job-related experience.
* Communication skills and team working ability.
* Ability to work to deadlines.
* Computer skills, including database/programming knowledge.
* Analog and digital electronics knowledge.
* Ability to work independently.
* ICT and functional test equipment/processes knowledge.
* Good problem-solving technique.
Desirable:
* Test development background.
* Familiarity with manufacture/testing requirements in a medical (FDA) environment.
* German language communication ability.
