The purpose of the Senior Contract Manager role is to ensure effective and compliant management of all contractual obligations, mitigating risks and facilitating smooth project execution.
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
Contract Preparation and Management
* Review, and support negotiations of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
* Manage the entire lifecycle of contracts from initiation to closure.
Compliance and Risk Management:
* Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and terms.
* Identify and mitigate potential risks related to contracts.
* Ensure that all contractual documentation is in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
Project Coordination:
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align contract requirements with project goals.
* Ensure timely and accurate communication of contractual changes and updates to relevant parties.
* Coordinate with legal, finance, and commercial/procurement departments to facilitate smooth contract execution. Cost Management and Budgeting:
* Oversee project budgets and ensure that all contracts adhere to financial constraints.
* Manage contract variations and amendments to accommodate changes in project scope or conditions.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain comprehensive records of all contract-related documents, including correspondence, amendments, and performance reports.
* Prepare regular reports on contract status, performance, and compliance for senior management.
* Ensure documentation is stored in an organized and accessible manner for future reference. Stakeholder Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Act as the primary point of contact for contractual matters and resolve any disputes or issues that arise.
* Facilitate clear and effective communication between all parties involved in the project.
Performance Monitoring and Evaluation:
* Track and evaluate the performance of contractors and subcontractors against contractual obligations.
* Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure contract compliance and performance standards are met.
* Implement corrective actions as necessary to address any performance deficiencies.
Show your expertise
* University degree or completed apprenticeship with focus on business administration or project management (or a comparable field of study)
* 5+ years of experience in a similar function
* Motivation and independent working style to push topics independently and persistently and to achieve high quality results
* Excellent team spirit and communication skills as well as ability to work under pressure
* Knowledge of contract law (Fidic, VOB) is a mandatory
