POSITION SUMMARY The lawyer has responsibility for providing legal support for the local Zoetis organizations in the UK, Ireland, Nordics and the BeNeLux.
The lawyer is expected to maximize, enable, guide and protect Zoetis in those markets, and to help advance business objectives of Zoetis in those markets.
This position will report into the Legal Director of this region and is based in Dublin, Ireland.
POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support the Legal Director as legal business partner on a variety of legal matters for the Commercial Functions and all Enabling Functions such as Finance, Tax, HR, etc.
; Negotiate and draft an extensive range of agreements, including distribution, supply, service, consulting, employment, marketing and sales agreements as well as other commercial contracts.
Corporate secretarial work, such as drafting official letters on behalf of the company, powers of attorneys, board minutes and shareholders' meeting minutes Prepare and provide compliance trainings to the business on a variety of compliance topics (anti-bribery and anti-corruption, competition law, privacy, etc.
); Draft and update Standard Operation Procedures and local policies.
Counsel and advise respective marketing teams, provide regulatory law support and review promotional materials.
Assist the Legal Director in ensuring that digital and marketing activities comply with data protection and privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, PECR) across Zoetis' operations, providing guidance on best practices and risk mitigation.
Manage Subject Access Requests (SARs) and oversee data processing agreements, consent management, and privacy policies.
Monitor trends and risks within the region as well as legislative or regulatory changes impacting Zoetis' business.
May assist in providing litigation support.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LANGUAGE SKILLS Language skills: English: native speaker or excellent working proficiency Optional: Dutch/French Education: Master's in law Demonstrating excellent academic track records Experience: At least 5 years of legal experience required in either private practice at a reputable law firm or as an in-house counsel Experience in supporting international pharmaceutical companies or other companies in the healthcare/life sciences sector TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
High integrity.
Have experience of working with compliance matters, distribution agreements and corporate governance.
Ability to exercise independent thinking while communicating a collaborative attitude.
Ability to provide concise, pragmatic and timely advice to the business whilst understanding the commercial and legal aspects.
Ability to learn about the different cultures in the region.
Ability to have a hands-on, proactive approach and to take initiatives where necessary.
Willingness to handle various projects regardless of their scope.
Ability to duly and timely manage significant workload and priorities and to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work under time and workload pressure.
PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS The position will be based in Dublin, Ireland.
The position will require some travelling within the region of responsibility and occasionally outside the region.
