AWS is set to introduce the inaugural European Sovereign Cloud, marking a significant development in Utility Computing. To spearhead this initiative, we are actively seeking support engineers with a background in cloud operations.

* Oversee the launch of the ESC in 2025

A typical day involves collaborating with technology leaders, contributing to the enhancement of day-to-day operations, and ensuring improvements in availability, reliability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the ESC.

Utility Computing (UC) European Sovereign Cloud (ESC) is part of AWS Utility Computing (UC). The UC organization supports the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things, Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS.

Basic Qualifications
* Experience working with technical support problems that may cross technology domains and interfacing with complex and/or critical escalations
* Understanding and experience with Linux operating systems and proficient in executing standard operating procedures and using operational best practices
* Experience supporting cloud systems or other software services
Preferred Qualifications
* Familiarity with monitoring frameworks such as CloudWatch, Datadog, Grafana, Elastic, or similar
* Able to read scripts or code with comments to understand how something should be operating
* Familiarity operating services in AWS
* Experience performance tuning software applications and optimizing fleet utilization
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as CDK, CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or similar
