Purpose of the Post
Provision of excellent catering services at Hamilton Park Care Facility.
Reporting Relationship
The Cook reports to the Head Chef.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Adhere to menus and instructions from the Head Chef and oversee delivery of food to residents from the kitchen as required.
2. Provide a range of balanced and varied meals for residents.
3. Ensure catering services are scheduled and provided.
4. Operate standard cooking equipment such as oven/hob, Bain Marie, steamers, toasters, choppers, and hot boxes.
5. Be aware of any specific dietary requirements of the residents of Hamilton Park Care Facility.
6. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment as per Hamilton Park Policy and Procedure to prevent injury to oneself (e.g. burns, cuts) and to ensure excellent hygiene standards for residents.
7. Participate and direct in cleaning of kitchen and equipment.
8. Comply with all policies and procedures relevant to the job role including those that incorporate health and safety, HACCP, infection control, and waste disposal.
9. Undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head Chef.
10. Maintain high personal hygiene standards.
Eligibility Criteria
Qualifications
Essential:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
* HACCP Training.
Desirable:
* Catering Qualification.
* Previous experience in cooking for the older person.
* Nutritional qualification.
