Role 1 – Cyber Threat Intelligence
Role 2 – Resilience
The Department of Defence comprises both civil and military elements. There is close engagement and collaboration across both civil and military domains and a ‘whole of Government’ perspective.
The Report of the Commission on the Defence Forces 2022 recommended the substantial strengthening of the Defence Forces (DF) Cyber Capabilities. As part of this process, a Joint Cyber Operations Unit (JCOU) is being established. They will be part of the JCOU team working on the development of DF Cyber Capability.
Responsibilities:
1. The DF Civilian Cyber Specialist – Cyber Threat Intelligence will be responsible for collecting, analysing and distributing cyber threat intelligence.
2. The DF Civilian Cyber Specialist – Resilience will be responsible for Information Assurance, Capability Development, Cyber Security Awareness, Strategic Risk Management and Audit.
