Overview:
We are currently seeking a Stores Assistant to join our team at Breedon Cement, Kinnegad.
As a Stores Assistant you will assist the Stores coordinator in warehouse and maintaining an effective administration system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Monitoring of the delivery of goods, materials, and services, ensuring that delivery documentation is checked against original order placed, and where there are discrepancies or exceptions to the original order take necessary action or bring this to the attention of the stores coordinator or procurement to rectify this with the supplier.
2. General warehouse upkeep & any other reasonable duties as necessitated by your function.
3. Carrying out of racking & pallet inspections and lean 5S audits
4. Carrying out Forklift prestart checks, Forklift driving & the unloading of vehicles
5. Collecting items from throughout the warehouse, preparing and completing warehouse orders for shipping or as part of a planned maintenance schedule.
6. Performing warehouse inventory controls via scanner and or through a computer.
7. Stock counting and location checks.
8. Compliance with Health & Safety Rules and Regulations
9. Uphold the values/Culture of the business.
10. Build and maintain effective working relationships with the Procurement & Supply team.
11. Build and maintain effective working relationship with colleagues.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
12. To have a forklift licence and continually update all areas of knowledge required to carry out the job at maximum effectiveness and attend training when required.
13. To maintain a positive and enthusiastic approach to your job and set the highest possible standards for yourself and your co-workers.
14. Self-motivated and the ability to work of own initiative.
15. Good communication skills. An ability to communicate effectively with all plant staff and senior management.
16. Good understanding of MS Office, particularly Excel
