Head of Performance and Analytics
Your team
The Head of Performance and Analytics is a central leadership role within the Betfair Sports Commercial team and is responsible for driving forward with analytical projects in line with the Betfair Sports strategy using their data understanding alongside key stakeholder management skills. Understanding, utilising, and building on data plays a vital part of our growth and generosity strategy where the successful candidate will play a leading role.
Further to this, the candidate will also be responsible for interpreting, communicating and actioning performance trends of the Betfair Sports business. They are tasked with ensuring performance trends are understood, learnings are leveraged, and teams are delivering the propositions of the brand consistently.
They will work with multiple stakeholders and teams across Betfair and Flutter UKI to ensure delivery of commercial targets.
This is a 12 month maternity leave contract
What you’ll do
1. Provide structure, quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques to solve complex performance concerns as they arise. Succinctly describe the issues and identify concerns, communicating these to relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.
2. Monitor performance of commercial trends using key metrics, delivering a consistent narrative in reports, insights and presentations to senior management and the wider business.
3. Develop best-in-class methods of understanding the performance of our generosity including control group best practice and ROI calculations.
4. Using data to create recommendations on how we can best segment customers for all aspects of generosity and customer experience.
5. Work with Data Science teams to ensure the Betfair Sports team is leveraging the full capabilities of our data products to improve the customer experience.
6. Lead and develop a high performing team, ensuring delivery against goals while providing opportunities to enable learning and growth.
7. Take ownership of performance actions and manage through to completion together with cross functional stakeholders.
8. Work closely with finance teams to ensure performance trends are understood at key budget and reforecast processes.
9. Understand the impact of all new and existing customer safety measures on the performance of the Betfair Sports business.
How you’ll do it
10. Strong numerical background; comfortable dealing with large data sets.
11. Highly proficient with SQL, and experience of data exploration software such as looker a distinct advantage
12. Leadership: Ability to influence and garner buy in from stakeholders across the organisation.
13. Commercial Acumen: Has a nose for business and uses insights to impact commercial drivers.
