Duty Manager
1. The effective and efficient management of the day to day operations of the hotel at all times ensuring that the defined 4* standards are implemented and adhered to by all service personnel.
2. Create a welcoming and friendly environment that results in a pleasant atmosphere for both guests and team members alike. Ensure that all guests and staff receive the highest levels of service standards, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
3. Ensure that good communication exists within each department and regularly liaise with each department throughout the day to ensure smooth operations. Ensure that all team members on duty are fully informed of the incoming events of the day/week.
When on duty:
1. Leave/give a full handover to/from Night team and Duty Manager.
2. Maintain a high presence level in specific departments during peak/busy times (e.g., breakfast, check out/in, dinner service) as needed.
3. Guest Liaisons - interact with guests, handle queries, assist with site inspections, address complaints, and rooming.
4. Be fully familiar with hotel facilities, services, rates, menu content, opening times, etc., and ensure all team members have extensive knowledge.
5. Encourage and ensure that all departments work closely together, providing beneficial support for each other, being able to multi-task and actively help out in each area (e.g., rooming guests, check in/out, breakfast/dinner/lounge service cover).
6. Work in conjunction with the Sales Department/Hotel Management/Reservations in relation to sales action plans, promotional events, brochure production, and site inspections to generate sales/revenue growth.
7. Apply efficient cost controls through effective management of departmental costs/purchasing, security, staff/labour costs, and efficient systems of operation.
8. Maximise all revenue/sales opportunities to achieve budgets.
9. Ensure all charges are correctly posted/charged and all monies are accounted for.
10. Reduce wastage through effective training and monitoring of staff.
Food & Beverage Service Areas
1. Take a proactive management role in supporting the HODs who oversee the Restaurant, Lounge & Bar areas, actively becoming involved in day-to-day operations in a hands-on capacity.
2. Demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality at work and in matters relating to the operations of your department, the hotel, and the company.
3. Attendance/Punctuality/Flexibility - lead by example and ensure all personnel arrive for work in good time.
4. Ensure flexibility within the department (e.g., absence is covered, overtime is worked as necessary) and monitor absences in the workplace.

Minimum Requirements
1. Minimum 2 years' experience as Duty Manager in Ireland.
2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
3. Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team to meet immovable deadlines.
4. Excellent organisational skills/time management, attention to detail, and excellent written communication skills.
5. Experience of producing and manipulating reports.
6. A flexible approach to work and openness to assisting the operation from time to time.
7. Experience in a wide variety of office applications/software packages.
8. Fluency in English plus one other European language would be advantageous.
