This new role will take direct responsibility for defining and leading the implementation of effective Operational Resilience controls across the European Operation. This includes ensuring regulatory requirements, including pipeline regulations, are complied with across the European business and the internal procedures and controls and effective in managing Operational Resilience risk.Team BackgroundThe role will lead a team to develop, implement and maintain first line Operational Resilience processes and capabilities to deliver the following: business continuity strategy and delivery, third party resilience.The role will also act as the European SME on Operational Resilience, contributing to its further development at a Global level.The role will lead a team and will involve significant senior relationship and stakeholder management across multiple lines of business in Europe and Lifeco.What you will help us to achieveWork closely with the European Chief Risk Offices, Chief Information Officers and Business Operations Teams to direct the European strategy and operational resilience preparedness to meet its regulatory obligations.Responsible for the provision of advice and monitoring compliance with relevant regulations related to Operational Resilience across the European segment, together with the assessment of International regulatory implications.Own the facilitation and coordination of Operational Resilience deliverables across the European Segment, including Crisis Management, Business Continuity Management and IT Resilience (IT DR), and the goal of developing and maintaining a higher level of risk maturity in these areas.Key contributor to the European Technology annual planning and budgeting process.Lead and motivate a team, managing the performance and development of direct reports, ensuring alignment with the European Technology strategic direction. Ensures robust succession planning across the team and uses talent management strategies to build and retain capability.Role model and support the broader leadership activities of the OCIO Risk & Security team, developing the ‘brand’ and highly engaged team recognised for its diligence, subject matter expertise and excellence in delivery. Able to seamlessly deputise for the CTRISO as required.Be a thought leader for technology and cyber security compliance, third-party risk and data governance across the European business segment, educating stakeholders including senior executive on complex topics, emerging trends and regulations.More specific responsibilities will includeExperienced Risk and Compliance leader with diverse experience across operations, BCM, Crisis Management and Technology Resilience in a complex large organization across multiple geographies.Deep knowledge of UK/European regulations around Operational Resilience and their application within a Technology environment including a good understanding of trends and regulatory focus across European regulators.Experience of supplier and third-party risk would be beneficial.Strategic thinking and the ability to develop and implement a vision and future roadmap for the Operational Resilience function, and to present these to business executives and the Technology leadership.Strong knowledge of top tier technologies and solutions which support Operational Resilience delivery.Expert level leadership skills and competencies refined through experience operating at a senior level, leading teams of experts.Ability to lead experienced practitioners with a diverse range of knowledge and capabilities to drive business success.
