Automation Engineer (Siemens) Overview Neo Dyne is a leading Irish and UK Industrial Automation and Electrical Engineering company. Our B2 B customer base extends to over 300 companies with turnover predominantly from large multinationals in pharma, high-end food and beverage manufacturing and energy sectors. The company is 25 years old and employs over 200 talented automation, electrical and IT engineers across offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Waterford, and Chesterfield, UK. Neo Dyne is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support one of our key client sites on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Neo Dyne team and play a critical role in delivering automation expertise across the site. This role is responsible for providing automation and equipment engineering support for site systems and process equipment, ensuring their operation, improvement, and maintenance meet both customer expectations and compliance standards Responsibilities Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to develop technical solutions for automated equipment. Collaborate with equipment suppliers to ensure seamless delivery, integration, and validation of systems. Maintain validated PLC automation systems in accordance with site change control procedures. Ensure compliance with computer systems validation (CSV) requirements and maintain validated states. Provide operational support for Fill Finish and Biologics Technical Development activities. Work cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Quality Systems (QS), and Quality Assurance (QA) to validate software systems, ensuring compliance with lifecycle management and maintenance standards. Define automation requirements and implement solutions to support new product introductions and capacity expansions. Support disaster recovery and backup processes to minimize business disruption during system failures. Deliver core automation and technical support, including off-hours, remote, or onsite coverage, and provide training in basic troubleshooting for operations and engineering staff. Oversee and manage automation vendors during equipment troubleshooting, upgrades, and improvement initiatives. Experience & Skills Required Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience within the pharmaceutical industry. Proficiency with Siemens S7 PLCs and Win CC Flexible is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with Fill Finish equipment is required. Familiarity with working in c GMP, FDA, and HPRA-regulated environments. Experience with Industrial Ethernet and SCADA systems.
