This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated Strategic Project Manager to offer a hybrid working environment to drive data centre projects scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. The Project Manager is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and has the ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Determine and define project scope and objectives
2. Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively
3. Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
4. Track project costs rigorously and mitigate potential inflation risks in order to meet budget
5. Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
6. Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
7. Manage contracts with suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
8. Utilize industry best practices, techniques & standards throughout entire project execution
9. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
10. Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
11. Interact with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements
12. Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status
13. Review the engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions
14. Develop specifications for the project's needed equipment
15. Create frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection
16. Ensure the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications
17. Assist on site works such as snagging, pre-commissioning and commissioning, ensuring all the associated paperwork is completed to the highest standard
18. Prepare technical submittals following detailed project approval processes i.e. Pharmaceutical
19. HVAC design work including drawing updates and modifications
20. Order parts and equipment
21. Complete health and safety documentation as required
Key Candidate Requirements:
1. Third Level Engineering Qualification, preferably Mechanical/Electrical or Building services
2. 5+ years of commercial project management and 2 years+ Data Centre related experience
3. Proven ability to solve problems creatively
4. Strong familiarity with PP software tools, methodologies & best practices
5. Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
6. Excellent analytical skills
7. Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
8. Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timelines
Key Knowledge:
1. Microsoft Suite of products including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
Key Personal Skills & Attributes:
1. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
2. Responsibility for follow-up on actions based on various team projects
3. Excellent organisation and time management skills in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
4. Ability to perform and manage technically complex projects using independent judgment and personal initiative
5. Build strong internal and external relationships using effective verbal and written communication skills
