Job Description Role Purpose To provide direct specialist nursing care to individuals with dual diagnosis of Intellectual Disability and mental health diagnosis in partnership with the HSE MHID and Stewarts Multi-Disciplinary Team.
To collaborate with the multi-disciplinary health care team both interdisciplinary at service level and in the wider service including HSE MHID and integrated care teams.
The Person Registered RNID or RPN with NMBI, or in exceptional cases, another Division.
Minimum 3 years post-registration experience, with 2 years in MHID specialty.
Higher Diploma (Level 8) or equivalent in Mental Health, Positive Behaviour Support, or relat ed field.
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
In-depth knowledge of mental health and healthcare needs of individuals with Intellectual Disability.
Proficiency in assessment tools and selection based on service user needs.
Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
Experience in developing and evaluating care plans for mental health diagnoses.
Strong partnership approach with service users and families.
E xcellent communication skills for relationship-building and empathy.
Collaborative approach with MDT and other professionals for high-quality service delivery.
Interest and ability to contribute to audits and research.
Presentation skills to deliver complex information clearly.
