Summary of Post We are seeking an experienced entrepreneur and biotech business development professional for a founding leadership role to drive the commercialisation of a portfolio of novel therapeutics in pre-clinical development.
This part-time position will involve developing the business plan, commercialization and investment strategy, and working with an experienced team to deliver on our strategy.
Our project is funded by an Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation Fund, aiming to bring innovative therapies for diseases such as obesity and Type 2 Diabetes to market via a biotech spin-out company.
The ideal candidate will have deep commercial, regulatory and business development experience in the biotech arena.
Specifically, the duties of the post are: Team lead for development of commercialisation strategy and investor engagementEngagement and pitching to venture capitalists and angel investorsDevelopment of a plan for follow-on funding opportunitiesTeam lead for development of business plan and regulatory roadmapActive engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (clinical, regulatory and payer advisors) across Europe and USADevelopment of a marketing strategy including using a direct marketing approach and showcasing events such as BioEuropeQualifications – (Desirable): Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Biotechnology, Business Administration, or Life SciencesKnowledge & Experience – (Essential): Entrepreneurial and commercial experience preferably in biotech or early-stage therapeuticsAbility to deliver impactful pitches to potential investorsIn-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and pathways for drug development and approval in major markets (e.g., FDA, EMA)Understanding of market access strategies and reimbursement processes in key marketsUnderstanding of IP management, including patent filing and strategyProven track record of successfully launching biotech products in global marketsExperience in forming and managing strategic alliances and partnershipsExperience in setting up and managing operational processes in a start-up environmentDemonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teamsWe encourage all candidates to submit an application — we'd love to hear from you.
