Role description:
We are looking for a skilled Principal or Associate technical Director in Fire Engineering to join our Dublin office where you will form an integral part of our growing team of dynamic fire safety engineers. In this role, you will be working collaboratively with a team of highly skilled fire safety engineers to design and implement fire safety measures across a wide portfolio of projects. The candidate will have the option to work remotely with infrequent travel to the Dublin office and to site as required.
Responsibilities include, developing fire engineering strategies, conducting fire risk assessments and liaising with project stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance. The position is for undertaking fire safety engineering work in Ireland but may include supporting design projects in the UK.
The applicant will work predominantly within the building sector, although opportunities to support other sectors may arise from time-to-time, considering the multidisciplinary nature of Arcadis as well as the range of services Arcadis deliver to its clients.
Role accountabilities:
1. Development of Fire Safety Strategy reports through RIBA stages of Design
2. Preparation of fire safety and disability access applications
3. Means of escape Analysis (ASET) (RSET)
4. Development of Fire Safety Management Plans and Fire safety statements
5. Inspection and assessment of existing buildings and infrastructure
6. Assessment and understanding of Irish and UK fire safety legislation and standards applied to buildings, such as TG Document B, TG Document M, Approved Document B (AD B), BS, BS; CIBSE Guide E.
Qualifications & Experience:
7. The candidate would be expected to have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Engineering or related field. (Open to Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil Engineering, Scientific or other numeric degree etc)
8. Qualifications should be recognised by a professional engineering body
9. Ideally a Chartered Engineer or working towards the Chartership.
10. Proven experience (3-5 years and above) in fire engineering.
11. Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, BS, EN).
