Job Description
We are recruiting a Metrology Engineer. This position reports to the Moulding Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analytical support for moulded component batch release. To be successful in this role, you should have good analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
Roles And Responsibilities
1. Provide analytical support for moulded component batch release as and when required.
2. Create and review Metrology reports in support of moulded component batch release and engineering study development.
3. Maintain & troubleshoot measurement systems to ensure their continued optimum performance.
4. Conduct statistical analysis on measurement results generated from the dimensional inspection of samples from moulding runs for new product introductions and replacement tools.
5. Generate and maintain documentation required in support of new and existing metrology systems and process.
6. Develop and qualify measurement systems for new product introductions as per project timelines.
7. Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices are adhered to.
8. Identify and implement metrology and/or manufacturing related cost improvement projects and initiatives.
9. Specification, evaluation and selection of new metrology equipment.
10. Generation of validation documentation for the Installation Qualification and Operational Qualification of new metrology equipment.
11. Carrying out component drawing assessments to evaluate their suitability for dimensional inspection.
12. Participation in cross functional design for excellence workshops.
13. Liaise with Division Engineering & R&D as required.
14. Design and develop prototype fixtures for evaluation through Gauge R&R.
15. Convey learnings from prototypes to fixture manufacturers for incorporation into final design.
16. Participate in fixture design reviews prior to manufacture.
17. Introduce fixtures per project timelines and budgets.
18. Design and qualify instrument generated measurement reports in compliance with corporate and site data integrity policies and procedures.
19. Present status updates at various management levels.
20. Interface with suppliers and plant customers.
Qualifications
1. Degree (Level 7) in Engineering or related discipline is required.
2. 2+ years’ experience as a Metrology Technician or similar in combination products or a highly regulated industry.
3. Experience of working with cGMP and ISO/FDA regulations and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
