Job Description
We are recruiting an experienced Buyer to partner with a leading medical device company in their expansion phase.
This Buyer will negotiate prices, achieve cost targets, and develop key supplier relationships globally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and contributes significantly to an organization's output and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a portfolio of key suppliers, negotiating procurements, and ensuring the best price for materials.
* Request bids from new suppliers to secure optimal pricing.
* Implement cost-saving initiatives to achieve value for money.
* Conduct performance reviews of current suppliers, sourcing new potential suppliers aligned with category objectives.
* Identify invoice discrepancies (e.g., duplicate billing, price differences, quantity errors) and take necessary steps to resolve them.
* Maintain records of items/services purchased, costs, delivery, travel patterns, product quality/performance, and inventories for accurate information sourcing.
* Process purchase requests by accessing databases and assigning order numbers for tracking purposes.
Required Qualifications:
* 3+ years' experience in a similar buying role within a manufacturing environment.
* Level 8 degree in a related field (Business, Supply Chain, or other).
* APICS qualification (or studying towards) is advantageous.
* SAP experience is essential.
