Overall Purpose of the Job
The Cleaning Supervisor will join the central Cleaning Department of Apleona (HQ) to assist in providing an efficient and effective cleaning service in accordance with contractual obligations and company policy and standards. The role involves overseeing cleaning operations across the business in conjunction with the department to ensure quality, health and safety, service provision, staff training, and coordination is handled smoothly. The Cleaning Supervisor will lead and manage the day-to-day operations and be responsible for the cleaning operatives while liaising closely and professionally with the Contract Managers and Client representatives in dealing with day-to-day operational matters.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure the smooth running of the cleaning services in line with the Service Level Agreement and Services Specification.
2. Supervise and investigate the quality and standard of cleaning services provided at client sites and assist the Cleaning Service Manager.
3. Assist the Cleaning Service Manager in supervising cleaning service staff, including the allocation of workloads, monitoring progress and performance, and determining work priorities, focusing on productivity and quality control.
4. Assist in undertaking site cleaning audits.
5. Control and monitor the correct use of appropriate cleaning materials.
6. Control and monitor the use of cleaning equipment, arranging repairs or renewals, and making recommendations to the Cleaning Service Manager.
7. Conduct stock checks on equipment and materials as required.
8. Arrange and carry out the induction and ‘on the job’ training of cleaning staff in accordance with relevant Apleona company practices.
9. Ensure full compliance with HSEQ and maintain documentation readily available using company systems.
10. Monitor training progress of cleaning operatives through company internal systems.
11. Ensure periodic rollout of Toolbox Talks and maintain competency records in line with Company Policies and Procedures.
12. Undertake recruitment of cleaning employees in conjunction with the Cleaning Service Manager.
13. Organize provision of relief/holiday cover for cleaning staff as required in conjunction with the Cleaning Service Manager.
14. Authorize, allocate, and record cleaning staff absences in conjunction with the Cleaning Service Manager.
15. Identify breaches and report incidents.
16. Perform ad-hoc duties and other related tasks as assigned by the Cleaning Service Manager.
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a Cleaning Supervisor.
2. Robust knowledge of cleaning procedures and protocols.
3. Working knowledge of MS Office.
4. Willingness to travel within Ireland to support company nationwide cleaning accounts.
5. Flexibility required for the role.

Qualifications and Experience
1. BICs training/working knowledge is an advantage.
2. Experience with time management systems for payroll verification.
