The role of the Architect will form part of the Development team based in Dublin.
There will be the opportunity to work proactively and collaboratively with other members of the Evara team to deliver what are ground-breaking developments.
The role will involve close interaction with the development team, construction team, commercial team and external consultants.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and ambitious architect who wants to work on exciting projects which will include residential, commercial, retail and master planning.
Job Purpose To play a critical role in the design, development and implementation of standardised residential housing models across low and high density and in supporting the development's teams efforts to identify, assess and acquire new land opportunities.
To be an efficient and proactive architect, supporting and being an integral part of the Evara team.
Key Accountabilities Unit Type Standardisation Lead and implement the standardisation of housing design that can be replicated across multiple sites.
Work with the development, sales, construction and cost teams to ensure alignment to business plan objectives.
Optimise designs to ensure cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, sustainability and with due consideration to the functionality and practicality of layouts.
Ensure that standard housing designs maintain sufficient flexibility to accommodate a variety of market preferences and site conditions.
Develop an Evara internal standards & specifications manual in consultation with the sales and costs team.
Develop guidance documents in consultation with the cost and development management team to efficiently deliver ancillary spaces such as resident amenities, common area facilities, landscaping and associated communal buildings.
Bring all the various stakeholders of the business together to deliver a suite of standardised house types.
Acquisition Masterplanning Evaluate potential land acquisitions by conducting architectural feasibility studies.
Collaborate with the development team to assess opportunities based on market trends, environmental considerations, and potential development costs.
Attend site visits and meetings with the land acquisition team and external consultants (e.g., surveyors, planners) to ensure site conditions are fully understood.
Develop initial conceptual design proposals for potential sites, aligning with Evara's brand and project requirements.
Prepare high-quality design presentations, sketches, and visual material to present to internal stakeholders, senior management, and external partners such as local authorities and planning consultants.
Ensure that designs comply with local planning policies, zoning regulations, and building codes, as well as any environmental or sustainability requirements.
Ensure all acquisitions adhere to planning and regulatory standards, keeping up-to-date with relevant legislation and local government policies.
Support the legal and land acquisition teams during the due diligence process, providing architectural input on planning applications, zoning, and regulations.
Contribute to the development of design solutions that address specific site challenges such as topography, access, infrastructure, and environmental considerations.
Identify and mitigate potential design-related risks to ensure a smooth transition from land acquisition to the planning and development stages.
General When called upon, work with the various Evara teams through all stages of the development cycle, to prepare design briefs and monitor and work alongside the teams to audit our 3rd party design consultants' design and layout outputs.
Review consultant architect's designs at key milestones during detailed design to ensure optimal detailing and identify value engineering opportunities.
Where design issues occur, support the development and project management team in finding optimal solutions.
For apartment blocks, the architect will effectively police gross to net efficiency and in general police our RFP economics targets and flag to Development / Construction Team if they are being missed.
Qualifications and Experience Be on/eligible for the RIAI Register of Architects with a minimum of 5 years post Professional Practice Examination experience.
A detailed working knowledge of Irish Planning, Building Regulation and Building Control Legislation.
Previous architectural experience in Ireland is important.
Must have strong Dublin residential (high and low density) experience.
Some commercial experience is also required.
Preference for in-house architect experience but not essential.
Experience with land acquisition in a residential developer context, including feasibility studies, planning applications, and concept design.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow in the role.
Have excellent CAD, Photoshop, InDesign and Revit skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and a variety of tasks at once in a fast-paced environment.
Proven success taking projects through to completion.
Excellent verbal and written communication, organisational and presentation skills.
Please present 3 to 4 case study examples of development projects, including traditional housing schemes, and higher-density apartment/mixed use schemes (including PRS/BTR schemes), which best demonstrate the depth and knowledge of your project delivery knowledge.
