Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Manager/EHS Lead Location: Tipperary & Site specific Job type: Full-time Permanent Overview: Our client, a leading Irish Engineering company, have an excellent opportunity for a EHS Manager/Lead to join their expanding team of problem-solvers who are not afraid to take on complex challenges. This role will be an integral part of the Project Team and will be responsible for providing specialist advice and support on all matters relating to the Environment, Health, Safety and Welfare across the business. The EHS Lead will become a Subject Matter Expert and ensure all safety standards are effectively implemented across the business. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the health, safety, and environmental management system, ensuring full compliance with legislation, risk assessments, and safe working practices. Work effectively with the Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System. Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan. Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in all High Risk Activities (HRAs) and ensure that they are identified and effectively controlled on site. Assist with the development & coordination of the Risk Assessment & Method Statement process. Assist with the development of SOPs and provide training and communication to all site personnel including our sub-contractor team on SOPs. Ensure all subcontractors are prequalified protocol and allocated to the project. Report and Investigate incidents when they occur as per the Incident Management Procedures and Incident Notification Protocol. Communicate Safety Alerts through Toolbox Talk on a scheduled / weekly basis. Ensure statutory inspections are complete and recorded into the SharePoint safety folders. Provide EHS project and documentation support. Any other reasonable and relevant duties necessary to meet the ongoing daily needs of the company. Candidate Requirements: Relevant Health and Safety Diploma / Degree. Minimum of 3 years experience in Environmental Health and Safety role. Experience in construction and/or Manufacturing would be a distinct advantage. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients. Focus on results and strives for continuous improvement First-class attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality Strong communication and negotiating skills are essential Strong organisation and negotiation skills Good team player that is flexible and open to change. You should be able to work effectively independently as well as part of a close team. Proficient I.T Systems & Microsoft office literacy Willingness to travel as required essential.
