Customs Manager/Senior Customs Agent
We are hiring a Customs Manager / Senior Customs Agent for a well-established logistics company in Northern Ireland. If you have a background in customs, import/export, logistics, or trade compliance, this is your opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure full compliance with UK, EU, and international customs regulations, including post-Brexit NI Protocol requirements.
* Accurately prepare and process customs documentation for import/export shipments, including CDS, CHIEF, T1s, GMRs, PBNs, IPAFFs, and ENS filings.
* Conduct audits and internal compliance checks, ensuring adherence to HMRC and Irish Revenue requirements.
* Monitor and update procedures in line with AEO certification, CFSP, IPR/OPR, and free trade agreements (FTAs).
Operational Leadership & Efficiency:
* Oversee customs clearance operations, ensuring timely movement of goods across borders.
* Collaborate with logistics, transport, and warehouse teams to streamline trade flows.
* Implement duty mitigation strategies and advise on tariff classifications and customs valuations.
* Optimise import/export workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Stakeholder & Team Management:
* Liaise with customs authorities, brokers, and regulatory bodies, handling queries and issue resolution.
* Provide technical support and training to internal teams on customs procedures and systems.
* Lead and mentor a team of customs agents, fostering a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
* Maintain thorough and organised records of all customs transactions, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Requirements:
* 3+ years in customs compliance, logistics, trade facilitation, or supply chain management.
* Expertise in UK and EU customs regulations, including Northern Ireland Protocol and Brexit-related changes.
* Hands-on experience with customs management systems (Thyme IT, Descartes, ASM Sequoia, Cargo Wise, SAP GTS, or similar).
* Familiarity with AEO accreditation, CFSP, IPR/OPR, TSS, and T1 procedures is highly desirable.

Qualifications (Preferred but Not Required):
* Diploma in Customs Compliance, International Trade, or Supply Chain Management.
* Membership with Institute of Export & International Trade (Io E&IT) or a related professional body.
* Customs Authorisations & Certifications (AEO, CFSP, or Brexit Compliance) would be a plus.
