Role Summary
An experienced financial accountant is required to manage day-to-day financial reporting and provide robust financial support across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Operations, Finance, and Environmental Sustainability, and working closely with internal teams, this role plays a critical part in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting strategic decision-making.
In addition to financial responsibilities, the financial accountant will actively contribute to bringing the organization’s mission to life for its visitors and wider community.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reports.
* Production of monthly management accounts to trial balance.
* Collaborate with the Assistant Accountant to ensure accuracy and proper segregation of duties.
* Manage weekly and monthly KPI dashboard reporting.
* Oversee accounts payable, including supplier reconciliations.
* Manage accounts receivable, third-party invoicing, and credit control.
* Perform bank and integrated credit card reconciliations.
* Manage tax and Revenue submissions via ROS.
* Handle sales invoicing, credit adjustments, and customer account reconciliations.
* Prepare year-end audit files and liaise with external auditors.
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
* Support governance-related administrative tasks (e.g., compliance filings).
* Liaise regularly with functional leads across departments.
* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and reforecasting.
* Provide ad hoc financial reports as required.
* Present quarterly reports to the Finance Committee and draft meeting minutes.
* Provide occasional HR and payroll support.
* Perform other duties as required by the line manager as the role evolves.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accounting professional (e.g., ACCA, ACA) with experience in a busy finance function. Key skills and attributes include:
