Financial Controller
CPL is working with a client in the Construction Sector who are currently looking to hire a Financial Controller to join their team.
Job Description:
* Reporting to and supporting the Finance Director on the performance and strategic development of the finance function.
* Assisting in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and other financial reports for review.
* Maintaining and controlling check and balances on various nominal ledger accounts in line with month end preparation.
* Full responsibility for the oversight of Group payroll, Supplier and Subcontractor functions.
* Leading and developing a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of growth and efficiency. Managing a team of 4 accounts staff.
* Reviewing and authorising payment files on online banking platforms.
* Ensuring full statutory and regulatory compliance across areas such as VAT, Tax and other regulatory obligations in multiple jurisdictions.
* Preparing annual budgets, short-term and long-term cash flows.
* Engaging with the commercial department to ensure accuracy of various rates in use for estimating on projects.
* Preparing information for external auditors for the annual audit.
* Aligning financial strategies with long-term business objectives, enhancing financial systems, and streamlining processes to improve reporting and efficiency.
* Driving the Finance department KPIs and monthly reporting.
Ideal Candidate:
* ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified with a minimum of 3 years' experience.
* 5+ years' experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams, with strong communication and interpersonal capabilities.
* Results-driven, proactive, and commercially aware, with high levels of integrity and a focus on continuous improvement.
* Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
* Experience in a multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional setting is an advantage.
* Effective communication, supervision, and managerial skills.
* Excellent IT skills - must have a high level of computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Strong team player.
